Accommodated Testing - PSAE

The PSAE is administered each year in the the Spring. The Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) measures the achievement of grade 11 students in Reading, Mathematics and Science.

The PSAE includes three components: (1) the ACT which includes the ACT battery of four multiple-choice tests (English, mathematics, reading, and science), (2) an ISBE-developed science assessment, and (3) two Work Keys assessments (Applied Mathematics and Reading for Information).

The State of Illinois requires that all students take the PSAE as a requirement for graduation. This test is offered every Spring at no charge to the student. The test is a two day test that is comprised of:

Day 1- ACT
Day 2- Work Keys Assessment

The ACT portion of the test is a "real" ACT Test and the scores are 100% "College Reportable." Homewood-Flossmoor will complete an application on the behalf of each student with accommodations. Please contact Rachel Giddens if you have any questions at [email protected]

Special accommodations must be applied for in advance and approval is made at the discretion of the ACT and the State of Illinois. When all documentation is in place, Homewood-Flossmoor will submit an application on the behalf of the student.
