Using the Library

Library Norms

  • Respect the space, staff, and other library users. 
  • Treat all library materials and resources with care and use them appropriately. 
  • Be mindful of the library’s academic environment and positively contribute to the success of yourself and other library users. 
  • Promote acceptance and kindness with all to ensure the library continues to be a safe and welcoming space.

 

Checkout Policy

  • Students must present their current school ID card or virtual ID when checking out materials.
  • Students may have a maximum of ten items checked out at any given time.
  • Students may check out books for a three-week loan period.
  • When renewing books, students can either bring them to the circulation desk or present a student ID in order to extend their loan period.
  • Students will not be charged late fines for overdue items that are returned to the library past their due dates.
  • A student with an overdue book will not be allowed to check out or renew any more materials until the overdue item is returned (or paid in full, if lost).
  • Students will be charged a replacement cost if items are deemed lost or damaged.

 

Using the Library During the School Day

  • SStudents studying in the librarytudents who do not have a period 1 class may use the library before school without a pass.
  • Students who are using the library during a class period must have a pass from that period's teacher.
  • A pass is not required to use the library during lunch periods, but students must arrive by the time the lunch period begins and stay until the lunch period is over.
  • Students using the library MUST sign in and out at the Log-In Computers.
  • ID cards or virtual IDs are required at all times for admittance to the library.
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the library.
  • Desktop computers and printing are available for students to use for school-related assignments.

 

Using the Library After School

  • Students are encouraged to use the library after school for individual quiet study.
  • Students must have their student ID card or virtual ID in order to enter. 
  • Students who get to the library after 3:15 p.m. must have a pass from a staff member to enter. 
  • Students using the library MUST sign in and out at the Log-In Computers. 
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the library.
  • Desktop computers and printing are available for students to use for school-related assignments.
  • Bus passes will be given to students who are using the library after school.
