Weather Related eLearning Procedures

Weather Related eLearning Procedures

January 10, 2024

As we look at the weather forecast for later this week, we would like to remind students and families about the procedures for a weather-related eLearning Day.

At this time NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE, however we believe it is important to communicate the eLearning process to be sure staff, students and families are prepared.

We will communicate a decision as soon as we can, keeping in mind that weather forecasts change therefore the timing of a decision will depend on the weather conditions. Communication will be by phone message, text, email through Parent Square and a website posting.

Students should be prepared by bringing devices and necessary documents or tools home.

In the event of an eLearning Day, all students will learn remotely at their own pace.

  • By no later than 8:30 a.m., an Asynchronous Lesson Plan will be posted in each of your Google Classrooms.
    •  Students will NOT be attending class remotely during class time.
    • Asynchronous learning follows the learning path developed by the teacher and is done without the presence of the teacher or other students.

  • For the eLearning day, we will utilize the whole-school attendance process.
    • An attendance link for students will be posted to the students' FR/SO/JR/SR Announcement Google Classroom.
    • Students must check in and complete the attendance form prior to 9:00 a.m.
    •  Students only need to complete the attendance form one time for the entire day.
  • Teachers will be available to communicate and assist with students via email from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. unless the conditions of the emergency day prohibit this communication.
  • If a student is experiencing difficulty connecting or navigating the system, email [email protected] or call 708-335-5750.
  • In the event of an eLearning Day, all activities, athletic practices and sporting events are canceled.

We are communicating this procedure with students and families prior to a decision being made to assure everyone is prepared in the event of a weather-related eLearning Day.
