Profile of a Viking

Profile of a Viking

Beginning with the 2022-23 school year, Homewood-Flossmoor High School rolled out its Profile of a Viking initiative. The Profile of a Viking reflects the core competencies that we strive for each student to have upon graduation. These are the skills we believe are critical in addition to the academic knowledge students gain through their coursework. These competencies are developed in the classroom, on the athletic field and through clubs and activities. HF administrators, teachers, staff, coaches and sponsors are being intentional in the way these skills are developed through daily interactions with students.

The Profile of a Viking was created with input from staff, students, families and community, coupled with educational research centered on the skills we all need in order to be successful in education, work and life. The Profile of a Viking serves as the lens by which we focus our daily lessons, interactions and decision-making.
