Class of 2022 Cal Mall Award Winner Justin Thomas

The H-F Athletics Department held its Spring Awards Night, celebrating athletes of the season, on June 1. The event also included the presentation of unique school awards not given out at H-F since 2019, due to shortened or incomplete athletic seasons over the past two years. Congratulations to these very talented H-F student-athletes from the Class of 2022:

Tanylah Gillen — A SWSC Gymnastics Athlete of the Year and H-F MVP, Tanylah was one of two seniors to receive the Karen Roseberry Memorial School Spirit Award! Tanylah will be attending Kent State University to study Nursing.

Charlie Van Etten — A SWSC All-Conference volleyball player & H-F MVP, Charlie was the other recipient of the Karen Roseberry Memorial School Spirit Award! Charlie is planning to study Business at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign.

Alexandria Edison — Alex is an IHSA All-State Track & Field athlete and a four-year H-F varsity athlete who received the 110% Award! She finished in 2nd Place in the 400m and in 4th Place in the 100m & 200m at this year's IHSA State Final. She will attend the University of Iowa, studying Political Science.

Ian Hoereth — A SWSC All-Conference Soccer player and a Viking Varsity Football player, Ian received the 110% Award! He will attend the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor this fall to study Kinesiology.

Maggie Cutrara — A three-year H-F varsity athlete, a two-sport H-F MVP and a Sectional Champion, Maggie was presented with the Jan Nolting Female Athlete of the Year Award! She competed at IHSA State this year in two sports: Badminton & Diving. Maggie will attend the University of Dayton, majoring in Entrepreneurship.

Justin Thomas — A SWSC Football Athlete of the Year, SWSC All-Conference Wrestler and three-year H-F varsity athlete, Justin was announced as this year's Calvin Mall Male Athlete of the Year Award recipient! Justin finished in 3rd Place at IHSA State in Wrestling this year and was a senior leader on the defensive line for the Football team. He will study Kinesiology at the University of Indianapolis.
