Viking Value Meals
To assist families with the cost of lunch, HF has implemented Viking Value Meals that range in price from $5.25 to $6.00. These meals are available at this discounted price for any student and are the meals provided through the free/reduced lunch program.
To receive discounted, free or reduced value meal prices, your student must have all the components of the Viking Value Meal at checkout (entree, chips or fries, drink and fruit cup). Otherwise, your student will be charged a la carte or individual prices for each food item. There are several value meal entree options for your student to choose from: cheese pizza, sausage pizza, pepperoni pizza, deli sandwich, sub-sandwich, hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and chicken sandwich.
Please be aware that your student will be charged for any other item purchased beyond the components of the Viking Value Meal. For example, if a student has all the components of the cheese pizza meal, then they will receive it at a discounted price (any student), or free/reduced price (for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch), for purchasing the Viking Value Meal. If your student decides to purchase extra fries or a drink, then they will be charged for the extra food items regardless of their free or reduced lunch status.
Negative Lunch Account Balances
We understand that negative lunch account balances can happen. A student’s account can be up to $25 negative with the understanding that it will be replenished by the family. Beyond the negative $25 threshold, your student will be asked to pay for their meal with cash only. This measure is to protect the caregiver and the student from being surprised and obligated to pay a large end-of-the-year lunch balance that may be unknown to the caregiver.
With that said, I strongly encourage the caregiver to sign up for MySchoolAccount to monitor what their student is purchasing for lunch. I would also encourage the caregiver to use the automatic replenish feature of RevTrack (Quest food service payment system). This feature will replenish your student lunch account balance when they reach the threshold set by you.
