The Homewood-Flossmoor Class of 2022 was celebrated at a commencement ceremony, held on Sunday, May 29, at H-F Stadium. Highlights of the event include:

  • More than 700 graduates walking the path from the South Building for a final time, as the H-F Band — directed by Sarah Whitlock — played Pomp &  Circumstance March No. 1.
  • Student Government Executive Board President Ayomide Ajayi leading the class in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Senior Class Officers presenting the senior gift: updated signage for the South Building.
  • Senior Class President Alexandria Edison giving the senior farewell address, and District 233 Board of Education President Gerald Pauling powerfully and poignantly addressing students and parents on recent events and their future.
  • The singing of The Wheels of a Dream by the Viking Choir, directed by Steve Sifner.
  • Incoming Superintendent Dr. Scott Wakeley presenting this year's top academic achievers, the Viking Scholars: Drew Bingham (U. of Iowa); Alyssa Brigham (Princeton U.); Kyla Emory (Spelman College); David Gibek (U. of Illinois - Urbana); Mark Gislason (Vassar College); William Goldberg (U. of California - Los Angeles); Jeanette Kouassi (Pomona College); Carter Langston (The Ohio State U.); Aaron Latman (employment); Ella Michel (U. of South Carolina); Rowan Moxley (Eastern Michigan U.); Jaden Sharp (Princeton U.) & Hailey Walker (Vanderbilt U.).
