Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 has announced that Dan Vosnos — currently the Athletics & Activities Director at Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Ill. — will join the H-F administrative team this July as the school's new Director of Athletics & Activities.
Vosnos has more than 10 years experience in athletic administration; he was confirmed by the District 233 Board of Education Tuesday evening. He has served Jacobs High School in his present role since 2011. At Jacobs,Vosnos supervised 24 varsity sports and more than 60 school clubs. He created the Jacobs Leadership Council and is the president of the Jacobs Athletic Hall of Fame. From 2003-2011, Vosnos was the Associate Director of Athletics at Evanston Township High School, where he also served as the school’s assistant varsity football coach and extracurricular academic advisor.
"I am incredibly humbled and deeply appreciative of Superintendent Dr. Von Mansfield, the administrative team and the Homewood-Flossmoor Board of Education for the trust, faith and confidence they have in me to lead their athletic department," says Vosnos. "I am excited about the opportunity to be part of the rich history and tradition of Homewood-Flossmoor athletics. I look forward to teaming with faculty, staff, students and our community to create an environment of academic and athletic success."
Vosnos holds a bachelor's degree in History/Educational Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was a four-year football letterman. He also holds a master's degree in School Counseling (Type 73) from Northeastern Illinois University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership (Type 75) from National Louis University. The Glenbrook South High School alumnus currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Elizabeth Zajicek-Vosnos.
