National Merit/Achievement Candidates Announced



Seven Homewood-Flossmoor students were named 2015 National Achievement Program Outstanding Participants Referred to Colleges. Congratulations to: Al Collier, Austin Grandison, Victor Ibe, Michael Morrow, Joel Osei, Reginald Peacock & Jaron Perry.

More than 1,600 African-American high school seniors - including three from Homewood-Flossmoor - were designated semifinalists in the 2015 National Achievement Scholarship Competition. Congratulations to: Ladye Cook, Whitney George & Jordan Kouassi.

Approximately 34,000 high performers on the 2013 PSAT test have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Program. Four students from Homewood-Flossmoor have received this honor. Although they will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who completed the 2013 PSAT. Congratulations to: Gita Connolly, Jacob Fontana, Mia Guzynski & Marcus Mangel.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 60th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Homewood-Flossmoor's Evan Runburg now has the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered this spring.
