Program Overview

HF’s Commitment to IB CP Learning

At HF, the IB CP is more than a set of classes — it is a learner-centered journey that connects academic rigor with real-world career opportunities. As part of our candidacy, we are developing programming that aligns with IB standards and philosophy in conjunction with Illinois’ vision for college and career readiness.

Inquiry-Based and Student-Centered Learning

Through IB CP, students don’t just receive knowledge — they ask questions, explore ideas, and apply concepts to authentic challenges. This inquiry-based approach fosters confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving strategies.

Experiential Learning in Action

The CP Core—Personal and Professional Skills, Reflective Project, Service Learning, and Language Development—ensures students learn by doing. Students also will participate in internship hours in their junior and senior years. These experiences connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.

Holistic and Internationally Minded Education

The CP curriculum integrates academic rigor with career-related study, emphasizing balance, well-being, and cultural understanding. Students develop the ability to collaborate across differences, value diverse perspectives, and act responsibly in an interconnected world.
