Students select a Pathway during sophomore year as part of junior-year course planning, with counselor support.

Yes. Pathways are flexible. Students can refine or change their Pathway as interests evolve.

No. Pathways guide choices but do not dictate every course. For most Pathways only 2 are prescribed out of the possible 27 courses a student can take throughout high school. Students still have flexibility in scheduling.

SchooLinks interest inventories help identify Pathways that align with student interests, giving counselors a data-informed starting point for conversations.

Pathways are a recommended framework to support student success and intentional planning, not a rigid requirement.

• Support rigor through AP, IB, Dual Credit

• Highlight real-world experiences colleges value

Pathways help deepen exploration and confirm interests while still keeping backup options open.
