Supporting Instruction

Supporting student learning, the Office of Assessment provides critical resources, data, and guidance to students, families, and educators. The office plays a key role in implementing and supporting the district's Assessment and Grading Policy, ensuring fairness, clarity, and consistency in how student learning is measured and reported. Through its ACT strategy, the office facilitates efforts to improve student performance on this essential college-readiness exam, which serves as both a graduation requirement and a state accountability measure. Students are guided through the test prep registration process, ensuring they have access to preparation resources and exam opportunities. The office also supports student placement through the intake process, where data from foundation schools is used to create personalized reports that empower families to make informed decisions about course selection.

Additionally, the office supports educators and school leaders by facilitating standards-based learning (SBL), promoting assessments that focus on mastery of key concepts and skills. Through observations and the use of assessment data, the office contributes to teacher evaluation, helping to identify instructional strengths and opportunities for growth. The office also plays a role in supporting the International Baccalaureate Creativity, Activity, and Service (IB-CAS) program, ensuring that data related to student participation and progress is accurately captured and reported. These efforts collectively reinforce the school’s commitment to equitable access, continuous improvement, and student success.
