State Reporting and Compliance
Ensuring the district meets its state reporting and compliance obligations is a vital responsibility of the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Office of Assessment. This includes managing the annual Accelerated Placement process, which occurs from November to December. During this period, the office collects and analyzes data to determine eligibility for accelerated placement under Illinois law, ensuring students have equitable access to advanced learning opportunities. From January to March, the office facilitates the administration and reporting of the 5Essentials Survey, a critical tool used by the state to evaluate school climate, learning conditions, and stakeholder engagement.
In addition, the office supports the district’s efforts to meet state-defined College and Career Readiness benchmarks by tracking and reporting student performance on key indicators such as ACT, SAT, and Advanced Placement (AP) exams. These reports contribute to state accountability metrics and help inform district initiatives to improve postsecondary readiness. Through timely reporting, accurate data submission, and compliance with state mandates, the Assessment Office ensures that Homewood-Flossmoor High School remains aligned with state standards and continues to support equitable educational outcomes for all students.
