The 2023-2024 school year is off to a great start! The faculty, staff, administration, and the Homewood-Flossmoor Parents Association would like to invite you to participate in ‘Back-to-School Night’ on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the evening is for you to experience your student's schedule as he or she experiences it every day.
Please plan to arrive around 6 p.m. to allow for parking and seating. The evening will begin with a brief, but very important presentation in the South Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. The first bell will ring at 6:45 p.m. and you will be off to class! You will attend each of your student's classes during the next two hours. The evening is designed to be an excellent opportunity for you to meet your student's teachers and to become familiar with classroom procedures and expectations. All North Building classes will meet in the North Building, so please wear your walking shoes. Light refreshments will be served throughout the night in both cafeterias. Class periods will be 10 minutes long, with 9 minute passing periods; therefore, faculty will not be able to address individual questions regarding student performance during the evening. If you have specific questions regarding your student, you should schedule an appointment with the teacher prior to or during the virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 26th.
In order to make your Back-to-School evening a success, please note the following:
- You can access your student’s schedule through PowerSchool or come to the South Building Cafeteria to get a printed copy.
- Some students have elected to take a period 1 course, however, the regular school day begins for all students with period 2. Please review your student’s schedule.
- The bell schedule for the evening is below.
