Phillip Barker holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University - Chicago. In addition to his role as social worker, he is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, which qualifies him to address substance-use issues within the school. Mr. Barker also works with the Gay/Straight Alliance, Peer Helpers, Friends of Rachel and Operation Snowball.

Duane Van Slyke, Special Education Social Worker — 708-335-5692

Duane Van Slyke has been employed as a school social worker at H-F for 21 years. He primarily works with Special Education students, providing direct counseling — both individual and group support. Prior to working at H-F, he worked as a adolescent counselor at Riveredge Hospital. He has a B.S. in Social Science and teacher certification from Illinois State University, and a graduate degree in Social Work from Loyola University - Chicago. At H-F, he has also coached Boys' Basketball for more than 20 years.

Tammy Green, M.S.W., L.S.W. – has a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and a master’s degree from Jane Addams School of Social Work, University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked as a caseworker for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago and as a crisis intervention worker for Thornton Township Youth Committee. She has been a school social worker for 26 years, the past 22 years at H-F. Tammy works in the Special Education Department with students who fall in the alpha of A-L, providing both group and individual services.

Marina Brennan, RTI Counselor, has worked at H-F since 2005, first as a school psychologist. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Western Illinois University, an S.S.P. in School Psychology from Western Illinois University, and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. At, H-F she is also the club sponsor of Poetic Expressions.
