Questions for Parent-Teacher Conferences

H-F's Department Chairs share their questions for parents to ask teachers during conferences on Oct. 29:

• What is the best way to communicate with you to keep informed about your class?

• Do you have a website, Edmodo account or some other way to advertise class happenings/assignments?

• What behaviors should I reinforce at home to help my student find success in your class?

• Please tell me two things that my student needs to improve on so that he/she can be successful.

• What strengths and/or weaknesses are reflected in my student's grades in your class, or what are the patterns in his/her performance?

• How much and what kind of homework should I expect my student to be completing?

• What kinds of questions do you suggest that I ask my student daily about your class?

• What are the most common barriers you see to academic progress in your classroom?

• What are the best district, school or online resources that we should use as a family to support our student in the classroom?

• What is the best way to make up an absence in a Physical Education class?
