Below you'll find information about residency verification, book & fee days, our
summer theatre performances and more. Looking for a good book for your vacation?
Check out the H-F Reads' selection, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, available at the H-F Library for students and parents. Missing band? Join in the H-F Community Band, which meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Band Room, then performs in Irwin Park on July 11 & July 18. For more info, contact Sarah Whitlock at 708-335-5652.

Reminder to all Summer School students: There will be no classes held on Thursday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. Classes will meet, however, on Friday, July 5.

Highlights & Happenings

Did you know that you can reduce your wait time during Book & Fee Days by verifying your residency and paying your fees in July? From July 8-25, Mondays-Thursdays 8 a.m.-3 p.m., you may verify residency in the South Assistant Principal's Office.
Items needed to prove residency are:
* Mortgage statement from June, July or August 2013
* Original lease from June, July or August 2013 with the name and phone number of
* Declaration page of current Homeowner's Insurance Policy
* Nicor bill from June, July or August 2013
* ComEd bill from June, July or August 2013
C. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING (must be a different utility company than from Section B
* Nicor bill from June, July or August 2013
* ComEd bill from June, July or August 2013
* Water bill from the village in which you reside
* Cable bill from your home address
All students - including incoming freshmen who attended Freshmen Registration in
February - must again verify residency this summer. After verifying your residency, you may pay book fees and purchase spirit wear and gym clothes in the Campus Store. 

If you are new to the district, please call 708-335-5594 to make an appointment to verify residency and schedule your transfer student's entrance exam.

Book & Fee Days: July 31-Aug. 5

Please mark your calendar for Book & Fee Days according to the schedule below! On these days you will:
* Verify residency (if you didn't do so July 8-25)
* Pay your registration fee (if you didn't do so in July or online)
* Pick up textbooks & class schedules
* Be issued your 2013/14 school ID and gym lock
* Receive information about bus routes
* Update your student's phone numbers & emergency contacts
* Have an opportunity to purchase gym uniforms and spirit wear
To avoid congestion, please try to attend on your designated day, but if you have a conflict you may choose whatever date is best for you! For residency materials, please read the box above.
Last Names A-Ga:  Wednesday, July 31;  11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Last Names Gb-O:  Thursday, Aug. 1 ; 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
All Last Names:  Saturday, Aug. 3;  10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Last Names P-Z:  Monday, Aug. 5; 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

The 2013/14 registration fee is $295 if completed on the above dates or $350 after
the above dates - no exceptions to the late fee!

Attention, Incoming Freshmen!

Welcome to H-F! Did you know that it is a state law that all high school freshmen must have a current physical with proof of immunizations on file before school begins? Freshmen physicals - or written proof of a pending appointment for a physical on a doctor's prescription pad - must be submitted to the school nurse by Friday, July 19. 

Please join us for CLASS OF 2017 FRESHMEN ORIENTATION on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Students attend from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided to those students outside of walking distance. At orientation, you will be briefed by administrators and Freshmen Class Sponsors, along with a question-and-answer period, a building tour and locker visits. There will be a Freshmen Parent Orientation held that evening at 7 p.m. - watch your mailbox for more information!
