Take a virtual tour of our campus by viewing our QTVR movies!

QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) allows the viewer to navigate through a scene by clicking and dragging a mouse. The viewer controls the speed and direction of the navigation by using the mouse. Some of our movies give you a 360 degree view, so that you can actually spin around the space! Others give you a 180 degree view of an area. (Download the free QuickTime Player if you don't already have it.)

In order to view these movies, you need to have the QTVR viewing software. The software is available for Macs and PCs.

Once you have the software, you can experience these images as if you were there!

The Front of the South Building (366k) is a 180 degree view of the front of our main school building. This building is located on Kedzie Avenue and houses most of our classes. The round building on the right side is the Technology wing. In the back of this building is a newly-built natatorium for swimming classes and activities.
When you enter H-F's doors at the flagpole entrance (pictured above), you enter the school's main foyer (229K). The principal's office is located just inside the doors. The Superintendent's office is to the left, IMC straight ahead, and English wing is to the right.
The Technology Lab (238K) is also a 180 degree view of one of our technology labs. We have three state-of-the-art labs that include a projection system mounted on the ceiling which is connected to the teacher's station, 31 computer stations, 3 color printers, and a black and white laser printer. Computers are mounted below the counter with a glass viewing window on the counter to view the monitor below. Keyboards conveniently slide out for typing. The labs are PC platform. Students from all classes come to these labs to use curricular software and internet research.
Our pool is a newly-built olympic-sized pool (252K) with a separate diving area. There is a large bleacher section above offices and locker rooms. We also have a computerized timing/scoreboard. We host Boys and Girls invitational meets, sectionals, and IHSA sectionals. The pool is also used by the community on Family Swim nights, by the Age Group Swim Program and by the Learn To Swim Program.
Our television station (160K), Viking Television, is a part of our broadcasting program. Here students create video announcements that are broadcast throughout the school 4 days a week, in addition to community programs. In 1999, VikingTelevision won the National Scholastic Press Association's Broadcasting Pacemaker Award..
Our radio station (166K) is also a part of our broadcasting program. This student-run 1500 watt station (WHFH 88.6 FM) broadcasts to the public from 8:30am to 9:00pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30am to 6:00pm on Fridays..
Our weight room (174K) features many pieces of free weight equipment as well as various weight machines. Attached to this room is a room equipped with computerized cycling and treadmill machines. The equipment is used before and after school by athletic teams, and during the day by Beginning and Advanced P.E. Weight Training classes.
photo of ice arena We are able to share facilities with the Homewood-Floosmoor Park District's Ice Arena (176K) (located next door to our school), so that we can offer Physical Education classes in ice skating.
Our library (169K) has has a 40,000 item collection listed in our online catalog (OPAC.) Books, audiovisual items, and Internet links are available to students and staff. Our online catalog is accessible through our thirty computer stations in the library. These stations also provide eight online databases with appropriate sources for high school research. Our database collection includes Newsbank, Student Resource Center, WilsonWeb, SIRS, Facts.com, and Encyclopedia Britannica. Students and staff have remote access to all of our online resources.
Our cafeteria (179K) features six serving stations and a courtyard area for use in warm weather. The facility is used for school lunches, as well as for school programs and after-school groups. In addition, it is used by community organizations for dinners and other programs. Our campus store is housed in our cafeteria.
The Football Field (238k) is a 360 degree view of our football field taken from a position in the middle of the field. You can use your mouse to make head spinning circles around!
The Front of the North Building (238k) is a 360 degree view of the front of our north school building. This building is located on our campus, northeast of our main building and can also be accessed from Governors Highway. A short walk for students, this building is currently used for P.E., Health, and Driver Education classes, as well as Foreign Language and some Social Science classes. Some space is also rented out to other users. This building features a large Field House with racquetball courts.
