Solve for X

Lesson

Solving equations with one variable (x):

  1. The first step is to get all of the variables, x, on one side and the numbers on the other side of the equal side.

Ex. 4x + 3 = 11 0000000000OOO0000000000000000000000000000000000000 0 Move the 3 to the other side by subtracting it from the left, to move a number to the other side, do the opposite operation, in this case, subtract instead of add. 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

  2. Then get the x all alone, with a coefficient of one by dividing the coeffieceint off 0000000 0000000SO 4x = 8 , then divide by 4 to get the x all alone and you get 00000000000 000000000000 x = 2.
