Summary: This course is extremely rigorous and fast-paced.  Students should have a strong algebra background.  Also, students should be highly motivated and be able to work independently.  This course covers all the topics in Algebra I CP, but with greater depth.  Additional topics consist of linear equations related to triangles and linear regression.

III Course Goals

1. Students will be able to solve linear and rational equations.

2. Students will use proportional reasoning to solve problems.

3. Students will be able to graph relations and functions.

4. Students will study and increase knowledge of polynomials.

5. Students will factor polynomials.

6. Students will explore quadratic and exponential functions.

7. Students will simplify rational expressions and solve rational equations.

8. Students will simplify radical expressions and solve radical equations.

9. Students will expand and apply their knowledge of statistics.
