Technology Plan: To ensure that
students receive the kind of education which prepares them to live
and work in the 21st Century, H-F developed a Technology
Plan. This plan helps infuse technology into the instructional
strategies which individual teachers are using across the
curriculum, giving students hands-on experiences with technology and
helping them to become technologically proficient. The Technology
Plan is a dynamic document which guides the school in its technology
acquisitions and adjusts to the changing needs of the school.
The plan also supports the needs of software
needs of staff within and outside of the
classroom. We have also added a parent support
component.
Technology Committee:
In 1992 the Board of Education directed that a Technology Committee
be formed to draw up the plan and update the plan each year. By
1996 they expanded the committee, and members of the Technology
Committee come from every curricular department of the school along
with representatives from clerical, the Board of Education, and the
Administration. The committee holds monthly meetings throughout the
year to discuss technology and its integration into the school. In
December of each year the committee meets for a half-day session to
discuss department visions and wish lists for the next few years.
In February the committee meets for another half-day session to set
up the technology budget for the next school year, prioritizing
items requested by the various departments. At the end of each
school year the committee evaluates the progress made during that
school year and adds an additional year onto the plan. In addition a
Community Panel reviews the work of the Technology Committee and
makes suggestions for the future.
