Homewood-Flossmoor High School The following 3D Studio 1 student artists dedicated this sculpture on April 23, 2002 to Homewood Flossmoor High School:
The inspiration for this sculpture came from sophomore, Patrick Wilson. His idea came after a classroom discussion about unity among students at Homewood Flossmoor High School. By creating five unique figures representing our diversity, the theme unity is displayed by the figures ambiguous nature and harmonious interactions. This piece is the manifestation of six weeks of student-generated problem solving and hard work. The sculpture was created by a method of plaster body casting completed with a faux bronze patina. The work will be on permanent display as a part of the growing sculpture garden created by past and future 3D Studio 1 classes. With this piece we hope to express the accomplishments of our young visionary artists while capturing the spirit of our Homewood-Flossmoor community. See a presentation on how the sculpture was made.
