Sandwiching Negatives

One of the many projects done in Photography I is Sandwiching Negatives. This is done in the darkroom only, and used to create a kind of surreal or unrealistic image. This is made by placing two negatives one on top of the other and exposing them to the photo paper instead of only using one negative. The selection of the negatives is extremely important, because it directly effects the composition of the image, and can give the image a certain mood. Consequently, the exposure time is usually much longer than average, because the image requires two negatives used at once, instead of only one.
