Low Lighting

The low lighting project entails taking pictures of subjects in darker situations, emphasizing the use of aperture and light meters. Using a single light source, or inadequate lighting, can create many dramatic effects in a photograph.  Aside from helping the subject stand out, low light can detail the outlines and contours of the focus of the picture. This technique can also create a certain sense of meaning or emotion. The challenge many photographers have is using filters to properly vary the contrast of the print. The challenges presented to the artist can overall become advantages in the final evaluation of the picture.
