Langston Jones used a photographic resource as a starting point for this painting. He exaggerated the colors within the bear, and created a background that would harmonize with the image. All work was completed using Photoshop.

This painting was created by Langston Jones by observing a found shell. Langston chose a closely-cropped view of the form that emphasizes the shell's sculptural qualities. Photoshop brushes were used to complete this painting.

Langston Jones scanned a plastic butterfly and used it as a starting point for this image. Repetition and implied lines are used to direct the viewer's eye around the page. The figure in the foreground is from Langston's imagination.

Maia Roberts created this design by first scanning a toy fish and a toy butterfly. By manipulating the size, angle, color, and position of each image, Maia has created spatial depth in this work. The background was hand-painted. All work was done with Photoshop.

Matt Wead scanned a toy turtle and a toy fish. By repeating and using transparent images for shadows, Matt has created a watery depth that is reinforced with his palette. Matt used filters and hand manipulated the image to give it a more painterly look.

A plastic butterfly was scanned as a starting point for this image by Missy Anderson. the background was created by using brushes and filters in Photoshop. By repeating, overlapping, and using drop shadows, Missy was able to create texture and depth in her image.

Raina Walker created this design by scanning leaves, twigs, and other found objects. She thoughtfully placed the objects to reinforce variety and unity in the piece. The image was copied and flipped several times to create the final image.

Ryan Wilson scanned a toy fish, some evergreen branches and some crumpled paper. He manipulated each element to create a finished repeat design. Transparent layers and filtering was used to enhance this piece.
