Drawing Volume/Reverse Value:  White Prismacolor Pencil on Black Paper.  (Advanced Placement) A still life set up of white curvilinear shapes is created and placed in the classroom.  Using a dramatic light source students are asked to realistically recreate a section of the still life emphasizing transitional value and volume.  In this drawing assignment students are assessed in their ability to create a dynamic composition, create a sense of fore/middle & background, record accurate contours and proportion, use transitional value to build form as well as use of balance, unity, movement and rhythm.
