S.I.          INTERPRETATION OF DATA

S.I.a.            Score Range: 13–15

S.I.a.1.        Select a single piece of data (numerical or nonnumerical) from a simple data presentation (e.g. a table or graph with two or three variables; a food web diagram)

S.I.a.2.        Identify basic features of a table, graph, or diagram (e.g., headings, units of measurement, axis labels)

S.I.a.3.        Describe trends and relationships in data displayed in simple tables and graphs.

S.I.b.            Score Range: 16-19

S.I.b.1.        Select two or more pieces of data from a simple data presentation

S.I.b.2.        Understand basic scientific terminology

S.I.b.3.        Find basic information in a brief body of text

S.I.b.4.        Determine how the value of one variable changes as the value of another variable changes in a simple data presentation
