Meet the Assistant Principal - South Building

Dr. Lawrence Cook started at H-F in 2001 as a Dean of Students, then became the Department Chair of Assessment until being appointed the North Building Assistant Principal in 2011. As North Assistant Principal, Lawrence oversaw 504 needs, Career Day and H-F’s Summer Academy program. He became the South Building Assistant Principal in 2017, where — among other responsibilities — he oversees residency, enrollment, the Deans' Office and Nurse's Offices.

Before Homewood-Flossmoor, he was a math teacher and Assistant Athletic Director at Rich East High School. Lawrence has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Governors State University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.

The best thing about working at Homewood-Flossmoor?

“The diverse student and community population,” says Dr. Cook.
